5 out of 5 stars A true southerner   April 6, 2010

I drink iced tea every day. I have it with both my lunch and my evening meal. Failure to do so initiates withdrawal symptoms.

Therefore, I desire to have large glasses for my beverage of choice. I bought a set of 23-oz. glasses several years ago and gradually that number diminished through breakage. So it came time to order new glasses. As usual I went to Amazon to see if they carried such. To my delight, they do and so I ordered four of the 24-oz. acrylic, heavy-based iced tea glasses. They meet my needs to perfection.

If you like LARGE glasses of iced tea, I recommend these containers without reservation.

5 out of 5 stars Great size for a big drink   May 27, 2010

After working outside in summer I sometimes crave a BIG glass of ice water and the standard glass is just not enough. When I was ordering a set of non-breakable glasses for outdoor meals, I noticed this nice big size so got a couple of them along with the others. I am really happy with all of the glasses, but these big ones are my favorites. They feel good in the hand, are crystal clear and do well in the dishwasher. There is no 'plastic' taste as there is with a large mug I got in the hospital and since these glasses are acrylic, I know they are BPA free. The base is sturdy and indented upward from the bottom just a bit too further discourage tipping. The glasses are made in the USA. For the price, I think these glasses are ideal.

4 out of 5 stars Great shape, but could be a little more durable   June 21, 2010

I ordered 8 of these glasses, only to have 2 broken in transit. I love the shape and size of these, so no regrets on the purchase, but my plan was to transition from real glass to acrylic because picking up dropped glasses shards from my new tile floor was getting to be a pain. I have no doubt that once these hit the floor, they will not bounce. However, the size (24 oz.!) and the feel of it in my hand makes it worth it. If (when) they break, I would not hesitate to replace them with more of the same. So 5 stars for design and size minus 1 star for durability equals 4 stars. Still a good purchase.

2 out of 5 stars Nothing special   June 3, 2010

I bought these glasses specifically for the 'heavy base'. It turns out this is just model name the manufacturer happened to give to this line, not a description of the attributes of the glass. The base is not heavy, and these are not any better than most plastic/acrylic glasses you can find at your local dollar store for one dollar.
