| Customer Reviews: Not really 20 oz. but big enough for lots of ice February 22, 2010 kayqueue (Virginia, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like these. They are not really 20-ounce glasses, though. The manufacturer claims on the box they are a little over 18 ounces. I ordered them for drinks served over lots of ice; the size is fine for this. Also great for shakes from the blender that won't fit into regular glasses. One problem: the glass is a bit thin. I unpackaged them, ran them through the dishwasher once, and one glass broke on the very first use, when I dropped in an ice cube. Perhaps it had been damaged during shipping.
Not as good as I had hoped May 4, 2010 Anastasia Pullen (Fresno, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having been a Cheers fan for years, and owning a five year old set of wine glasses, I wanted these to complete my glassware for semi-formal occasions. I am sad to say that the quality of these glasses is VERY poor. They are extremely thin, and while I can appreciate that style sometimes might lend itself to delicate glassware, these are flat out cheaply made. I have mikasa china and glassware, and just can't believe how cheap these are. The designs are gorgeous, which drew me to Cheers in the first place, but I know that this set (and I now have 16) will not last long, even when only used on special occasions. They are just too fragile. :( My original wine glasses are of much better quality...I guess everything changes over time, I'm just sad that Mikasa decided to downgrade their products to such a shoddy level.
Some things to know about these glasses July 13, 2010 A. K. Skaar (Everett, WA USA) As the other reviews say, these glasses aren't really 20oz. They are thin. The other thing that I find rather annoying about them is that they are branded on the foot. Mikasa stamped their name on the foot of the glasses by etching it on. So every time you take a sip, you see their name. As someone who finds being bombarded with branding unappealing, this is definitely a negative to add to the list for these glasses.
